My Work

My skills are varied and diverse. I've written, recorded and programmed my fair share of creative works. Here is just a small sampling of what I've done.

Videos

There was once a time where I found myself a videographer and video editor. Not sure how that happened, but the work I did is some of what I am most proud of.

  • What it's like to be a YES! Intern | YES! Magazine | A recruitment video for YES!'s internship program. As a former intern, I think I know how great it was!
  • Scottish Highland Games in Ferndale | The Bellingham Herald | Made with a simple consumer-grade camcorder, I think it shows what a great solution that can be for web-video.
  • Black Friday Madness | The Bellingham Herald | Everyone's seen the footage of the consumerist insanity that is the morning after Thanksgiving. I think my coverage went in a different direction.

Columns and opinion

While I was trained in J-school to keep my opinion out of my writing, I definitely have more fun when I'm speaking my mind.

Journalism

I did a stint as a freelance journalist for a while. Here are some of my favorite articles.

Web design

I've worked as a Web designer, skinner and developer since 2007. Much of what I've done is invisible back-end stuff or widgets on larger sites, but for now here's some of what I've done on my own.

  • RonJudd.com | Personal site of the eponymous Seattle Times columnist. It's pretty old, but I built it so might as well include it!

Other

  • Dick Hunt | This is a computer game based on the Nintendo Classic "Duck Hunt." I made it using Game Maker in the weeks after Vice President Dick Cheney shot his hunting partner in the face. It's stupid, but fun. Windows only, unfortunately.
